Declaration
We decree that this nation shall be marked by businesspeople who walk uprightly and who speak truthfully. We say that integrity shall prevail nationwide in businesses, in our centers of research, in financial institutions, media outlets, systems of education, and offices of government. In Jesus’ Name, we bind the power of shady deals, skewed reporting, mismanagement of money, and crooked transactions. We say that those who are dishonest, corrupt, unethical, and dishonorable shall not hold power in our country. We say that businesses that undermine the righteous and righteous causes shall lose their influence and fail to prosper. We speak that their dishonorable words, methods of communication, and intentions shall have no merit on the direction of the nation. We declare that the upright citizens and people of ethical principles and practices shall make way for and preserve our national prosperity. We say that all reasonable systems of checks and balances shall produce a high standard and shall be administered equally and fairly across the board. We say that the upright in word and deed shall lead the way for our states and cities so that they can flourish and succeed. We decree truth and integrity in business shall prevail, in Jesus’ Name!
Scripture
Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart (Proverbs 11:11 NLT).
Word of Encouragement
It’s hard not to meet anyone these days who doesn’t express their frustration with the countless areas across the country that have caused serious harm because of some form of lacking integrity or shady practices. Most are aware that government, big corporations, and countless private businesses have abused their power and misused resources for greed and gain on a wide scale. Common are the discussions on how our tax dollars are used to fund antibiblical causes, dangerous agendas, and activist or simply worthless programs. Worse, however, is that the average person eels nearly helpless to do anything to stop it. Of course, we cannot throw our hands in the air and abdicate our responsibility to make a difference where we are able. There are many ways the average person can get involved. In fact, there are more resources at our fingertips than ever to aid us in lifting our voice. When citizens begin to effect change on a grassroots level, amazing things happen! But we as Christians must be the leaders in effecting such change. We can’t sit idly by and think it’s not our “calling” to be involved in society’s business structures, political systems, and public platforms. We cannot hide within the four walls of the church and hope our country will miraculously turn out right. The verse makes it clear that it’s the involvement of the upright who make a city prosper. It’s pointing to the righteous being involved in civil matters within our communities. We are to be an instrument of integrity that stands in the way of the crooked and unethical. Unless we become a halting force, evil will prevail. Let’s begin taking our rightful place in enacting change, and let’s also become the change by using our prayers to bring it to pass! Is anything too hard for God? No! He is well able to lift the standard of integrity in the business world when His people get involved and when they pray!
