DECLARATION
TODAY we break the power of strife over our home and our family! We decree our home is an environment where strife has no place and no voice. We rebuke all demonic powers that would create contention, bickering, quarrels, and altercations, in the Name of Jesus. We say that we refuse to be lured into strife-filled conversations and situations. We declare that anger, contention, touchiness, grouchiness, temper tantrums, and flare-ups are not allowed in our home. We prophesy that we are a family who controls our emotions, words, and attitudes and we submit them to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We say strife is replaced with patience and self-control. We do not stir up strife with our actions, and we choose to create a home that is strife-free and contention-free. We prophesy that in our family and home the power of strife is broken!

A hot-tempered person stirs up strife, but the slow to anger calms a dispute (Proverbs 15:18 NASB).
WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
No one enjoys contention or contentious conversations. Resolving differences considerately is very different from allowing strife to run freely through your household. Most strife arises when those involved have a difficult time controlling feelings, attitudes, and the like. It usually results in sharp tones of voice, sarcastic comments, or rude body language. Strife must be a bigger problem than we’d like to think, because so many Scripture verses, particularly in the New Testament, address avoiding strife and contention. When we realize that being a strife-filled, contentious person doesn’t please God, we know that we need to avoid strife at all costs. Strife not only hurts those around us, but it robs our day of joy and fulfillment. Demonic spirits love to stir up strife, so we must not become ensnared by them! A key to learning how to be a person devoid of strife is to speak over yourself that the power of strife will not be allowed to rule over you or take control of the environment in your house. Declaring strife is broken will remind you not to stir up strife when the opportunity arises, but rather to do the opposite and maintain peace!
