No More Shame

May 10, 2020 | Daily Decrees, Pastor Brenda Kunneman

SCRIPTURE

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood anymore (Isaiah 54:4).

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

To think of what you used to be like in your younger years can often trigger thoughts of embarrassment. People often joke about their teen or early adulthood as they relate some of the foolish choices they made at that time. However, even as we advance in years we can all still experience times when we wish we had done some things differently. Maybe it was how we treated someone or handled a situation and we realize we could have done better or used more maturity. Release any shame that has held your mind captive right now and realize you can’t change the past, but you can change the future. You can choose to make better decisions going forward. We serve a powerful God who can release us
from the shame of our past as if it never happened!
