NEW IDENTITY

May 7, 2020 | Daily Decrees, Pastor Brenda Kunneman

SCRIPTURE

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

When we give our lives over to Jesus, the Bible tells us we became a brand new creature. This means we are not what we used to be. We are completely different in nature, character, and even our DNA, spiritually speaking, has changed. The joy and sense of this new identity is second to none! However, the enemy will try to put you back and paint you in the former season. He will try to get you immersed in who you used to be, not who you are now. He might try to remind you of your past and also use others to label you in your past. Rise up and receive your new identity in Christ today and don’t allow the thoughts and images of who you were to come back to haunt you. Rise up today and declare, “I have a new identity in Jesus’ Name!”
