Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies (Psalm 27:11).

One of the great abilities the Lord has given us is the use of our mind. He gave us the capacity to learn and absorb information. It is healthy for us to spend time learning and to exercise our brain through study or observation. However, even the brightest geniuses in the world will be shown as profoundly inadequate without the Lord’s instruction guiding the learning process. Without His instruction we become reliant on the fallacies of our own human concepts. Ask the Lord to bring His instruction into your life. As you study, whether that be the Bible or other subject matter, do not forget the important element of calling on the Lord, the Great Instructor, to not only teach you His knowledge, but to also teach you His divine ways in how to apply what you learn.
