WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
No one likes not feeling well or having to miss out on things because they are sick. Sickness is something that tries to attack us sometimes, but there are many promises in the Bible that show God’s best for us is to be healthy and well. In fact, the Bible promises that God is committed to heal us and that Jesus provided healing to us through His death on the cross (see Isaiah 53:4-5). The Bible also reveals that sickness is an attack of the enemy. Satan wants to bring sickness on people, but the Bible also says that we have the power to resist the work of the devil. James 4:7 says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Making a habit of trusting God’s promises for healing will help us stand up to things like sickness and pain. Declaring we are healed and healthy even when we aren’t feeling sick is also a defense against the attack of sickness. Think of it like taking your vitamins every morning. Just like vitamins build your immunity against sickness, so does declaring God promises for healing. Begin each day by saying, “I am healthy!”
