As I am sitting in my office today, I keep feeling the nudge of the Holy Spirit upon me to encourage you in your prayer life. No matter what life throws our way, we have to always remember there is power in prayer! Matthew 21:22 says, And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Now let me draw your attention to two actions this verse requires of us.
First, it says to ask. The word “ask” in this verse literally means to request in such a way that you expect it to happen. For example, think of a child who asks his parents for food. He asks confidently that he will be fed and cared for.
Secondly, the verse tells us to believe. Think about it, to believe in something means you are completely convinced it is the truth. People become convinced of truths by studying and talking about them. You can become convinced about the truth of God’s promises to you by reading and talking about them as well.
So if you have a prayer that needs to be answered today, begin with asking confidently as though you expect God your Father to bring provision because you are His child. Secondly, believe it by immersing yourself in the truth of God’s promises until you become persuaded of them. Then begin to smile friend, because the result will always be that you shall receive! Ask and believe today! God bless you, Brenda
