But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent (1 Kings 5:4).

King David was a man in so much warfare that He couldn’t build the temple for the Lord, even though it was in his heart to do so. However, Solomon reigned in a season of peace and was able to build it. The point is when you are in constant warfare, battle after battle, you can’t build and progress because you are so busy fighting. Perhaps this is where you are in your life right now. Or, maybe you aren’t experiencing spiritual warfare specifically, but you are just exhausted from the stresses of life and need a recharge. Know that God does want you to have moments to pull back and be able to pause.
God wants you to be able to get renewed and let your uptight muscles relax a little so you can build toward the necessary positive elements for the future. Ask the Lord for a well-deserved and supernaturally given break today!
