SCRIPTURE
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:4-5 KJV).
WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Pain is no fun. Everyone has experienced it, and it’s straight from the pit of hell. No one wants to be in pain, but there are people who are in physical pain every day. Is this what God wants for us? The answer is an emphatic no. God doesn’t want us in pain any more than we want to see our children, spouse, or loved one suffering this way. The word griefs in the Isaiah 53 Scripture is also translated pains. These can be emotional and spiritual pains for certain, but they are also physical. We are a whole person; and if one part of us is in pain, it affects all the other parts. Emotional trauma can make someone physically sick with pain. These Scriptures remind us that Jesus took our pains upon Himself. I want you to envision that today. Perhaps you are in pain even while reading this. See Jesus coming before you and lifting those pains off of you. Picture Him carrying your pain to the Cross. Ask Him to help you feel relief. Remember, He is merciful and will walk you through pain into wholeness. Declare today that pain is bound! I am in agreement with you in Jesus’ name!
