Prophetic Scripture:
…For the Lord will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward (Isaiah 52:12).
More people get caught up in the fear of what could happen rather than what has happened. The word rereward above simply means God is your rearguard. In other words, He’s got your back. God and His angelic forces are working around you like warriors protecting a secret agent in some great sting operation. They are making sure that as you go and obey God nothing is going to catch you unprepared. The reason that many of us are caught unprepared is because we fear the unexpected and thus open a door for the devil. We need to renew a daily confidence that God is warding off the devil, and we need to not spend time worrying about things. Undoubtedly, we couldn’t count how many times God protected us, kept us, or sustained us from something we didn’t even know was there. Often the power and blessings of God are found in what we didn’t see, rather than what we actually experienced. We may never know, until we get to Heaven someday, the things God kept us from! Take a hold of this word from the Lord today and know that you don’t have to worry because God has already covered your back!
Prayer:
Lord, I stand confident today that You are my rearguard and You are watching my back. I reject any thoughts of fear or worry about some unexpected tragedy or circumstance. Thank You, Lord, for guarding me on every side today. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
